One of my most viewed posts is one I posted a couple of years back showcasing ‘5 DIY Projects I Need to Try‘. As, it’s coming up to Christmas, I wanted to post another round-up of DIY projects that I’ve either been pinning or have bookmarked to try in the upcoming weeks to add some DIY festive décor to our home.
This DIY Advent Calendar looks really effective on a wall. I have all plenty of washi tape and pegs hanging around my home to make this myself.
We’re having my family round for Christmas this year. It’s the first time we’ve actually hosted a proper dinner, nevermind it being Christmas! Luckily, my mum has got the turkey covered. Imagine my horror if I burnt it?! I really don’t like cooking meat either. However, I’ve been on the hunt for some luxury crackers and nice table place cards. I never thought of making an arrangement myself. These DIY Succlement Place Cards would be ideal. I’ll have to rade my mum’s craft room for some festive card.
This one is possibly my most favourite from the bunch. It looks so easy to make and I want to hang one in my living room. I’m even thinking of dipping the pinecones in some paint and sprinkling on a bit of glitter! They would look so festive around our fireplace.
I can remember when my dad was obsessed with burning coloured candlesticks down empty wine bottles. The wax drips always looked amazing and I really want to incorporate that idea with this DIY.
I cant wait to try out a few of these DIY’s. There’s always something special when you’ve made something yourself. Especially when it looks like you’ve bought it from a shop, like the DIYs I’ve featured.
House of Fraser have released a series of videos sharing a number of DIY/Christmas-hacks as part of their exciting Christmas, ‘Your Christmas Your Rules’ campaign. My favourite video features Interior stylist, art director and set designer, Laura Fulmine showing how to make our very own easy Christmas Ladder. I love how it’s Scandinavian inspired and I’m tempted to give the DIY a go. It’ll look great in my Living Room. And, the hanging decorations look ever so pretty! I really like House of Fraser’s message of doing Christmas your own way.
Are you going to give any of these DIY projects a try?
