This pregnancy couldn’t go any faster. I probably won’t be saying that if I go over-due, but it has seriously flown by! I’m feeling really positive as I hopefully hit the final 6 weeks.
How I’ve been Feeling
These last few weeks have been pretty exhausting. It’s been a real struggle to get any sleep. I’ll drop off around 11/12pm and wake up at 2 am… then that’s it. Some nights I’ll be able to doze off for half an hour here and there. But, other nights I’ll be wide awake and just know I won’t be getting anymore sleep.
As soon as I hit my third trimester the Braxton Hicks came strong. The baby dropped at 29 weeks and has been pretty low ever since. It felt amazing for my ribs (hello extra space!) but the pelvic pain can be a real struggle some days. He’s 3/5 engaged too, which explains why most the movements are really low. It almost feels like he could fall out or my pelvis will break in half!
My bump is measuring two weeks behind but it’s the first time my bump has actually been measured this pregnancy. With having regular growth scans, it’s not a major problem. I’ve got my last growth scan in two weeks, so we should see continuous growth as the baby’s growth has been pretty perfect so far.
I’m a little apprehensive with the unknown of when the baby will arrive. I’ve got everything crossed that they reach full term this time – who wouldn’t want a healthy baby?! I’m just under a week away from when I started to get signs of labour in my last pregnancy.
I’m taking my first Strep-B test this of this pregnancy this week. As long as the baby comes at full term, the chances of the baby contracting it will be really low.
I’ve been looking back at my last pregnancy updates as I couldn’t remember how my last labour actually started, but I had gone in for another check as I was bleeding and had back pain. This wasn’t unusual for me as I suffered from a Subchorionic Hemorrhage and had regular bleeds. Although I suffered from two again this pregnancy, it resolved at the start of my second trimester and I’ve not had any bleeds since. So fingers crossed this time is a whole different experience!
What I’m Looking Forward to…
We’re nearly there with the nursery and feel so much more organised with everything we’ve been buying over the last couple of weeks. I’ve got plenty of baby clothes to wash which were Lily’s. I think I’ll get on with that this weekend!
