We’ve been looking for the perfect blind for our kitchen window for quite some time. We couldn’t make up our minds whether we should opt for a Roman or Roller blind. It definitely needed to be a blind, but I couldn’t envision which; never mind the colour choices we’d have to pick from. We recently painted our kitchen from the original magnolia to an off-cream. I love how in some lights it looks white and towards the cupboards, you can see the cream hue really show. So, we knew whatever blind we chose had to match the kitchen cupboards too.
I was recently contacted by Order Blinds to review one of their blackout roller blinds and thought it’d be the perfect opportunity to try a bespoke blind for our kitchen window. We decided to install the blind on the outer-frame of the window. Our house has wooden beams above all windows, which is great for adding blinds and curtain poles to. They screw sturdily in and I love the overall look. After measuring up the exact size using Order Blind’s useful measuring guidelines, I opted for their Alicante Textured Blackout Roller Blind in Ivory. I love the idea of the blind having a textured look, and couldn’t be any more impressed with the material when it arrived. I also opted for their Nickel Chain, as we have a lot of chrome within our kitchen. It’s also a nice change from a basic plastic one.
The blind was despatched within 10 working days, which is pretty good considering it’s a Made to Measure blind. Delivery was no problem either, it arrived well packaged and it didn’t take my other half long at all to get the blind installed over our window. There was so many different colours to choose from on their website, so I was a little apprehensive to see how the Ivory colour would match with our decor. But, if you’re not a dare devil like myself (and just wing it), Order Blinds do offer a free sample service. Luckily, the Ivory was the perfect match for our kitchen.
After having the blind installed for a few weeks, I’m really impressed with the quality. It’s perfect to block out sunlight at the summer evenings draw in. We have a few windows in desperate need of blinds and we’ll be sure to check out Order Blind‘s website in future to fit the perfect style and fit.
Reckon I picked the right blind style for our kitchen window?
